Registering a worker
Managers and location managers can register new workers (network owners don't — they operate at the company/network level, not by creating individual accounts).
Required: username, email, and a password of at least 6 characters with one uppercase letter and one digit. A duplicate email is rejected outright ("Email is already registered").
If your company is location-based:
- A location manager creating a worker doesn't pick a location — the worker is automatically assigned to that manager's own location.
- A manager/admin must pick a location from the dropdown. Leaving it blank returns "Bicycle assignment is required for location-based companies"; picking a location from another company isn't possible.
A brand-new worker's stats (hours, worked days, salary) all start at zero — that's expected, not a bug, until they work their first shift.
Registering a location manager
Only managers/admins can do this (not location managers themselves). Requirements: your company must be location-based, and a location can only have one location manager — trying to add a second one to the same location is rejected.
Dismissing and reactivating a worker
Dismissing a worker (marking them inactive) has real downstream effects: they can no longer be added to new manual shifts, assigned to a shift pattern, or picked for a manual report — you'll see "EMPLOYEE_DISMISSED" wherever you try. This is the first thing to check if scheduling or pattern assignment for someone suddenly stops working: they may have been dismissed rather than there being a bug.
Reactivating a worker undoes this and makes them assignable again.
